Emily Hope is a forest resource economist with the Canadian Forest Service, part of Natural Resources Canada. Based in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario Canada, Emily works at the Great Lakes Forestry Centre, a research center dedicated to forestry problems including pests, wildfires and climate change. Her research focuses on natural resource economics and the use of economic principles to solve natural resource related problems. She is specifically interested in the economics of wildfire, pest management, and climate change mitigation. Emily has a Master’s in Science from the Department of Food, Agriculture, and Resource Economics from the University of Guelph, and a BSc in Environmental Economics, also from the University of Guelph. Originally from the Sault Ste. Marie area, Emily spends most of her free time on the water.
